Welcome to the Party

The colours of the parti Yorkie are unusual and makes them uniquely adorable ...........
The word “Parti” originally referred to any breed of dog with “more than one colour.”

Parti Yorkshire Terriers?
Coloured Yorkshire Terriers first came on the scene in the 1800s, common colours :Tan/Gold/Blue/Steel Grey.

However, the UK Parent Club made a decision at the time that the preferred showing colour for the Yorkshire Terrier was the standard colours you see today winners of Club Shows & Crufts.
As a direct result, the tiny Parti Coloured Yorkie pups were not accepted and were essentially “banished”,
this is a term used by American web sites only.

It has also been written by American breeders that in 1983, a Yorkshire Terrier named “Nikkos Rolls Royce Ashley” won the Best of Show at Crufts and was selected Dog of the Year.
(It was won by an Afghan Hound!) yet more rediculous tales from American Parti Coloured Yorkshire Terrier Breeders. Nikko's breeding lines have never won anything in the UK. Nikko's lines were bred with cross bred Yorkshire Terriers from Hungary to obtain their White colours! Continued referencing by these American clubs to the Streamglen Kennels is also rubbish, Streamglen was a UK breeder and all her dogs were of the accepted breed standard, NO WHITE there then...

The AKC officially accepted the Parties after numerous and articulate DNA-tracing, but it did not test all the dogs in the ancestry, so therefore were unable to determine where the White got in.They also didn't register some Nikko's dogs for 6 years! Not a practise done in the UK Kennel Club. The most common characteristic of the Parti Colour Yorkie are White/Black/Tan or White/Black/Blue also colours such as Chocolate or Blonde (these are really cute!) There is much controvecy as to the origin of the Parti colour, even though they are not accepted by either the AKC or UK Kennel Clubs for showing. Why then have they been an accepted breed colour by AKC one would ask?
So they can never be shown of course! They are a mixed breed undeterminate!

Traditional coloured Yorkie

The UK of course is where the Yorkshire Terrier originated from...Parti coloured Yorkshire Terriers as the name suggests are just that. They hold no mystery or secrets. They are as adorable as any Yorkshire Terrier. They may not conform with UK Kennel Club showing conformation, but non the less many are born within the litters of many a good UK breeder. They are not rare as such and should not be exploited by sellers. Anyone wishing to buy a puppy should not be duped into paying any more for that puppy as any standard colour Yorkie.

We do not have predominantly WHITE Yorkshire Terriers in the UK, these are Biewer's, bred in Germany by a man called Mr Biewer around the 1980's. They are a cousin to the Yorkshire Terrier, called the Biewer Terrier.
The term Biewer Yorkshire Terrier is a mixed breed dog of both breeds. Yet another designer dog from America.
